Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, well known as city of fine muslin, mosques and rickshaws has a fairly long history of evolution. Before it rose into prominence as Mughal capital of Bengal in 17th century and urban & commercial centre, it was under the Sultanates from 14 century. It came under British control in 1757. Dhaka with passage of time testify different faces of history. Photographs and digital archives are the most effective ways that can keep visual records of its colourful history.

ReplyDeleteBhasani Novo Theater (Planetorium) estab in 2004 by Min of Science and Info at Bijoy Sharani Dhaka as a Non-formal Science Education Centre built on 22,000 sqm of land. Besides the show hall it has auditorium, exibition hall, conference room, underground car parking.
It runs daily 4 shows, 6 days a week. Price of each ticket is Tk 50/-. The show contains 2 parts: first part named ‘The Journey to Infinity' on planets, stars, galaxies and so on, while the other part in Large Format Film on animal life.
It has modern pan hemispheric projector machines, half circled and perforated aluminum screen, Space Simulator, special effect device run on computer network. The Operators run them from two different points of the dome. Goto Inc, Japan looks after the maintenance and servicing.
