Nimtali gate - built by City Corp, marking the palaces of the naib-nazim (Deputy-Governor) of Dhaka Province in 18th century in the Nimtali ward (previously Bagh-e Musa) and popularly called the Nimtali Kuthi (Nimtali Palace). All have disappeared over time, but only one gateway (Nimtali Deuri) of the palace still remains behind the Asiatic Society building in dilapidated condition.

Ershad bhai,in the 7th picture, what are the buildings on the right and left hand side (mosque shaped).
On the left is the famous Shahi Masjid, Chawkbazar built by Subahdar Shaishta Khan in 1676 AD. It underwent renovation and expansion during last century. Have full view of the Masjid in post 'Dhaka throuh the ages' at http://dhakadailyphoto.blogspot.com/2006/11/dhaka-through-ages.html
The old 'Ketabpatti' market below the masjid has moved on to one side. The other masjid seen on right of cannon became extinct long ago.
The area in the pic west of 2 Masjids is known as 'Churihatta' a place once well-known throughout subcontinent for its high quality colourful bangles. There exists a historical Masjid built by Subahdar Shah Shuja son of emperor Shahjahan.
