Not sure how the street got its name ‘bhuter gali’. This street in Kalabagan, now dense and over crowded, was thin narrow winding path around several ditches with little habitation far away from the town. In course of time ghost stories became associated. However, late municipal commissioner Nazir Hossain in his book entitled “Kingbadantir Dhaka” mentioned about existance of one ‘bhutnath’ living there long ago from whom the name of street probably derived. I would appreciate if any person through light on it.

Thanks nice pictures. Love those 'krishnachura' trees. How long do the blooms last?
The Bhutta corn cart looks so old fashioned yet so sweet.
And the picture of the man taking a nap in the scorching heat, thought provoking indeed.
My cousin says the Bhutta corn cart area is in the 'bhooter goli' and not Dhanmandi, is that true?
And why such a name as 'bhooter goli'? Any ghost story behind that?
Thanks
